Monday Update (June 2nd)

Hello dancers! Welcome to our new segment, the Monday Update, where I blast through some of the happenings behind the scenes at the studio lately and get you caught up for what’s in store this week.

We have been working tirelessly on Nutcracker. Pulling out costumes, making schedules, assigning parts, so much more. We are prepping envelopes with your parts and contracts to be sent out any day now. You should know what you are doing in the Nutcracker by the end of the week! It is a very exciting time, we have worked incredibly hard to give each dancer the part that fits them the best and will make them happy. Some of you are going to be very busy people this fall!

Summer Classes start this week! We were a little late getting information out but you can find all the classes and times here on our website, or on our social media posts. Today we have Genie’s Heels Master Class (adults only). That is a one off class so if you are an adult and interested please come tonight at 6! In terms of weekly classes there will be three different ages of Ballet offered, two ages of Hip Hop, Tap is coming back to Sitka Studio of Dance, and Jo will be teaching the Toddlers and the Sparkle classes! On Friday there will be Nancy’s Adult FunkJazz. We are thrilled to be offering so much dance in the summer months!

Lastly, Melinda is doing much better. She goes on daily walks and has been doing some errands around town. Her goal is to eventually teach some of the summer ballet classes, though that will be further down the line. The get well messages are much appreciated even if she isn’t always able to respond.
